Family

On Leah's first birthday (nearly two years ago), she was given a very special gift. Uncle Kurt has kept alive a family tradition. Grandpa Duane, who has been gone now for fourteen years, used to make these rocking horses and give them as gifts to his family. I remember having one in the house as I was growing up. Kurt kept the pattern after Dad died and has kept the tradition alive in our family. He makes one for each family on the child's first birthday. I know Dad would be proud of the handiwork. I am so glad that I have this little rocking horse in my home. It's not only a reminder of my father, but a special legacy that has been passed to my children. I love this little horse, I loved my father dearly, and I love my children. Thank you Uncle Kurt for this wonderful gift.

Karla, what a meaningful gift. You will treasure that forever! Thanks for making me cry at 9 AM -it doesn't take much for that to happen these days! :)

Love you and miss you!
Kiss the kids for me!
